To many Bantu people of Africa, the philosophy of “ubuntu” is the very spirit of being human. You may know the term by its more popular translation "I am because we are" the words spoken often by the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Ubuntu reflects interconnectedness and a shared responsibility for healing and peace. It is the quintessential Bantu ethos.
Through personal experiences, I have come to understand that it's not the physical challenges but rather the unexpected psychological ones that test you the most. These mountains of challenges can force you to fashion many coping mechanisms and dysfunctions in order to survive, endure, and hopefully overcome. Having experienced extreme hardship, I am no stranger to the trappings of these default mechanisms. Through our sessions I introduce you to ways of invoking the ubuntu spirit as a mechanism and invitation to welcome a grace within you that connects you to a place of abundance and love.
With an abundance of life experiences and practical lessons from so many hardships, deep understanding is my state of existence. We all have underlying patterns and beliefs, I offer a depth of space, a wealth of wisdom in human psychology, and practical approaches that help hold up a compassionate mirror.
